Projektbeschreibung

Intramuscular fat deposits are known to compromise muscle integrity; however, fat compounds and their role as mediators of muscular inflammation are not known. The aim of this pilot study is to identify potential correlations between inflammation markers and lipid compounds that accumulate in muscle tissues from young and elderly patients that undergo surgery at the Department of Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery at UKA. The study will collect 100 cryopreserved muscle tissue samples.
